Analytics Review
What people actually do vs. what they say they do.
What It Is
Systematic examination of behavioral data from existing products to understand user patterns. Self-reported behavior is unreliable. Analytics show what actually happens, at what frequency, in what sequence.
How It Works
Define the questions analytics should answer. Identify relevant metrics and events. Analyze funnels and drop-off points. Examine session recordings and heatmaps. Look for segments with different behaviors — sometimes the average hides the most important story.
What It Produces
Behavioral baselines so you know where you stand. Conversion funnel maps showing where people leave. Friction points with quantified impact — not just "users struggle here" but "42% of users drop off at this step." And hypotheses to validate with qualitative methods, because analytics tell you what's happening but not why.
