What It Is

Presenting early-stage concepts to target users before committing engineering resources. Building the wrong thing is expensive. Testing concepts is cheap.

How It Works

Create low-fidelity representations — sketches, mockups, storyboards, landing pages. Show them to 5-8 participants. Ask what they understand, what appeals to them, what concerns them. Compare reactions across concepts to find patterns.

What It Produces

Signal on which direction to pursue. Specific feedback on what to keep and what to change. And confidence before committing resources — because the cost of testing three concepts is a fraction of the cost of building the wrong one.
